Theory Test

Your understanding of the road and road signs starts with your theory test. As you need to understand the meanings and signs in order to anticipate dangers and hazards.

DVLA theory test is designed to help you as new driver as it is split into two sections

  • A multiple choice section to test you have the full upstanding of road signs
  • A Hazard perception section, which will test your advance danger perception and test how you react to hazards

Both multiple choice and Hazard perception tests will have to be passed before you can book a driving test.

These test was introduced to reduce the number of new drivers been involved in accidents within the first year of passing their test.

And DVLA has seen a fall in the number of accents after introducing Hazard perception and multiple choice to new drivers
