Minimum requirements
You have to be 17 years old to start taking full driving lessons – you can apply for your provisional license when you are 15 years and 9 months old.
License
You will need to apply and obtain a provisional license before you can start your driving lessons the current fee is £34.00 and an application form can be obtained from your local post office or you can apply online.
Please check before you start learning, you can read number plates during the day in good visibility from 20 meters away (average of 5 car lengths).
If you have prescription glasses or contacts lens, these must always be worn when driving.
